Garrett 1139070 Ace 250 Metal Detector - Giving It A Shot
As a jewelry and coin hunter, I've used different metal detector models on and off for a couple of years. Now, I'm not a hardcore detecting hobbyist. No, I wouldn't classify myself as that. BUT I do try to do it properly when I'm on the field.
Now, I'm not someone who would spend $700 to $1500 for a metal detector. HELL NO. But I do want to get a good one...one that gives me the best bang for my buck. I found different reviews about the Garret 1139070 Ace 250 Metal Detector - many of them are good, very few are bad (maybe one out of ten).
This is my conclusion: I LIKE IT! I wouldn't mind buying another Garrett 1139070 Ace 250 Metal Detector.
Here's why:
- When I got the Garrett 1139070 Ace 250 Metal Detector, I darted for the backyard and played with it a little. Within minutes, a resounding DING surprised me. The Ace 250 metal detector found a penny, buried about 4 inches deep. A good start!
- The settings for discrimination and sensitivity work perfectly! The different settings (for coins, metals, jewelry, and everything else in between) work extremely well. That's especially true for coin shooting. The Garret 1139070 Ace 250 Metal Detector is very accurate. The 'treasure' is usually EXACTLY what it says it is.
- I have read different reviews that thrash the PinPoint Feature. I simply don't understand why. I think it's a matter of reading the manual...the book. I have read it and played with the feature for a couple of minutes and it worked very well!
- When it comes to finding treasure, coins, jewelry, etc. that are buried about 8 inches deep, the Garrett 1139070 Ace 250 Metal Detector is a MONSTER! I'm sure it will work well deeper than that, BUT I haven't had the chance to look for very deep items.
- Very light: I never had any problems carrying it with me and moving from one place to another. The display, on the other hand, squeezes different useful info into one neat package without confusing me.
- The battery life is impressive. That's especially true when you switch it off while you are digging. It will go a long way.
My verdict: Garrett 1139070 Ace 250 Metal Detector is HIGHLY recommended!
