The Bounty Hunter VLF Metal Detector is my very first metal detector. Initially, I just wanted to located pipes in the back yard. Never in my wildest dreams did I know that I would make a hobby out of metal detecting...and it's all thanks to this Bounty Hunter metal detector.
For a first timer, this metal detector is perfect. Be minded though that I haven't tried a super detector (those that are far advanced) so I'm not so sure what is missing from my unit.
HOWEVER, for example, I found a dime buried at 4 inches at the transition between the driveway and grass area, the Bounty Hunter VLF Metal Detector works automatically...without any need for ground balance.
As of now, I'm learning the tones and while I can't tell what item I would find for a certain tone, the Bounty Hunter VLF Metal Detector does dispose out iron, which kills off a lot of trash. When it says there is something to dig, the fun begins...you can be sure that it's something of value. Not heaps of iron.
